Commitment to Service
Since taking office, I have made it my goal to always be committed to the citizens of Dallas County. I not only work with other county officials and commissioners to ensure that we are good stewards of our resources, but to implement efficiencies to move the county forward. This entails leveraging technology and auditing our business processes so that we are using best practices.
I have been and remain engaged with other counties and organizations to set high standards and common themes for business processes.
As a result of my efforts, I now serve on a number of boards and committees that are committed to improving services to citizens around the state and country.
I am honored to serve as Chair of the board of directors for the Dallas Central Appraisal District; appointed by the chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court to serve on the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee and the Judicial Committee for Information Technology. I am the past president of the Urban Recorders Alliance. I also serve on the Finance Committee for the National Association of Counties (NACo), appointed by former NACo President, Tarrant County Commissioner, Roy Charles Brooks.
John's Message
I would like to thank the citizens of Dallas County for the opportunity to serve as your County Clerk. Since elected, I have made many changes in transforming the office and improving the services that the County Clerk's Office provide to the citizens of this great county. My primary objectives during this term is to continue to use technology to improve the services this office provide to our citizens and to implement best practices to create efficiencies that allows us to reduce the tax burden on the citizens of Dallas County.
Since my election to office, we have made tremendous strides in bringing Dallas County courts into the 21st Century and have been recognized by our Commissioners Court for our united efforts in creating transparency and efficiencies in the Dallas court system.
During these past 3 years, I have focused on adding additional efficiencies by leveraging technology to enhance our ability to provide online services for citizen engagement and to make the county clerk’s office one that is recognized as providing best in class services for the citizens of Dallas County.
Most recently, the advances we have made allowed the county clerk’s office to continue to provide essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Post-COVID, we continue to work to transform our office to meet additional services and needs of the public that were realized amid the pandemic. What was once an underperforming office, has now been transformed into one with greatly improved customer services and improved efficiencies in the work flow processes. The County Clerk's Office has received recognition at both the State and National level.
Though much progress and many improvements have been made, there is still much more to be done. Therefore, I am asking each of you to support my re-election efforts so that I may continue the mission of moving the County Clerk's office forward. It is my goal and mission to make sure that Dallas County Clerk's office is the benchmark for best in class services and practices.
It is not only my responsibility to service the citizens of Dallas County to best of my ability, but also to work with other leaders in Dallas County so that all of the needs of our citizens are met.
In order to accomplish our goals and objective in making our county the benchmark for counties in our state and across this great nation, it required leading and educating our employees to become more productive public servants. This requires us to invest in our staff and provide them with the tools they need to be successful. We can't complete this journey without them
Again, I thank you for your continued support and the opportunity to serve as your County Clerk
